Master melina djembe from Guinea
Handmade djembe from Guinea, West Africa. Made of one piece melina wood (Gmelina arborea). The drum got a thick, pre-shaved goat skin (twisted skin finish against skin slipping) with pattern. Verticals are made of a black 16 strand braided 5mm strong polyester rope. Rings with loops are covered with traditional cotton (lapas). There are 32 double cow hitches on each 6mm strong ring with loops. 8mm strong steel got used for the flesh ring. Great sound, light weight and simple design are the main skills of this professional djembe.
